About

NoWatt created a unique dataset

NoWatt designed, built, and deployed unique data collection technology 20 years ago. It's been collecting real equipment behavior at unrivalled resolution ever since. That history now matters because no one else knows the evolution of behaviours across so many sectors, so much infrastructure, and so many appliances.

Since 2006

Two decades of live deployment across sectors, sites, and operating conditions that are impossible to reproduce internally.

Operating principles

The ideas that shaped the dataset

These are the lessons that came out of years of trying to make operating data commercially useful in the real world, not just technically interesting in a report.

Data only saves money when it supports a decision.

Collecting data is not the same as using it. Our platform is built around producing a shorter, more useful list of things a team can act on — not a wider dashboard of things to watch.

The benchmark matters more than the sensor.

Any monitoring system can detect that something changed. Only a system with deep comparative context can tell you whether the change matters, what kind of problem it is, and how urgent it is.

Real-world data is not the same as lab data.

The NoWatt dataset captures how equipment and people actually behave — including settings drift, misuse, intervention patterns, and the slow changes that eventually become failures.
